Seriously, Daniel Craig, just Fuck Off...
You don't own James Bond and what you did was Selfish Bullshit

So, in this article that’s making the rounds, Daniel Craig talks about how he never wanted to do more than one Bond movie, and then continues his daft logic with a story about insisting to the Producer of the Franchise, Barbara Broccoli, that Bond had to die in his last movie:
“I had genuinely thought I would do one Bond movie, then it would be over. But by then we knew we had a hit on our hands. I realized the enormity of it, so I said to Barbara, ‘How many more? Three? Four?’ She said, ‘Four!’ I said, ‘OK. Then can I kill him off?’ She said, ‘Yes.’”
You don’t sign up for a franchise with a one-off contract, and that is common knowledge. How this apparent simpleton could think that by being gifted the Lead of the longest running movie franchise in History he would only have one turn in the role is genuinely, stupidly short-sighted. Unless the statement above is a lie.
But he goes on…
“If we kill Bond, we can begin again. I think Barbara thought that too. But, bless them, the studio, MGM, were, like, ‘What are you talking about? Are you out of your minds?’ There was reluctance. So we had to do it in secret, really.”
YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO DO IT AT ALL!!! MGM had it right, and you should have been fired for your complete lack of interest and obvious incompetence.
And what’s this “we can begin again” shit? If you choose to kill off the character you’re playing, you’re out - you have no say in the future of that character because he is dead. Dead by your own insistence, you thick slab of meat. The best thing you could have done was bow out and let the people who genuinely want to be there do their jobs.
Oh, by the way, the one way to keep audiences coming back is NOT TO KILL THE MAIN CHARACTER. The whole franchise is based on James Bond, and Daniel Craig seems to have done his best over his time in the role to deconstruct him and make him less and less of the character that Fans knew and loved from the beginning. Sure they were adequate movies for what they were, but they were never truly Bond films.
And now that he’s dead, what do you think Fans will remember? They will remember that James Bond is dead. Why see another chapter in the life of a character that was abandoned with such callous indifference towards what the Fans might think of that decision?
You’re not getting the Fans back. You’ve already killed James Bond. What more could you possibly do to/with/for him? And the Producers who were shepherding this Franchise - agreeing with an Actor’s opinion despite the Studio’s obvious foresight - they will be hard pressed to regain any of the Fan’s trust & loyalty that was so callously taken for granted.
I never really cared for Casino Royale, or his portrayal of James Bond, simply because he had no class, no grace, no real sophistication - far from what was established and maintained by his predecessors. Craig established and maintained that Bond was mainly just a monkey in a suit. A meathead and a bully crashing through a series of convoluted and deliberately opaque storylines that were far too indulgent in maudlin gravitas to be compelling or carry the franchise any further.
And now you’re publicly saying that you enjoyed killing him off.
Congratulations. Bully for you, dipshit.
Not only did you kill the character, you created a vacuum that sucked all the things that made Bond fascinating and attractive right into that same black hole of disregard for the Fans and total apathy for the Legacy.
Good luck recasting another Bond - though why should you possibly care, Daniel? You know someone will try to fix the problem you created and left behind. There’s still enough money on the table for one more roll of the dice, right? We’ll see.
Good luck trying to rebuild the franchise into anything close to its former glory. The only person who could possibly remember the early days of the franchise that still retains the ability to change its course somehow agreed with you and green lit this reckless folly of abandonment - not just of James Bond, but of the Franchise and the Fans themselves.
You’re glad Bond died? Didn’t want to do it any more? You could have bailed after Casino Royale, but no, you stayed in it. Why? Was it just for the money? Were you afraid of what might happen if you broke such a lucrative contract? Whatever the reason, you decided that somehow you had the right to decide the fate of James Bond.
You didn’t.
And because you took something that didn’t belong to you, you destroyed it carelessly, selfishly, and to the detriment of a global audience you don’t seem to care about at all.
Take the fortune you were paid for doing something you had no interest whatsoever in doing and piss off back to your local community theatre. You need some humility in your life. You need to not be seen or heard for some time. You need to learn what it means to earn your place as an International Movie Star - a position you were granted with this franchise that you’ve so proudly pissed all over.
Back to the end of the line for you, meat puppet.
The fact that you were allowed to act with such limited thought, desecrating what was once a well respected, guaranteed money machine places you in the same category as every other hack out to destroy franchises that earned their place by respecting the Fans who made those franchises what they were in the first place. You’re in good company with Rian Johnson and neither of you arrogant dolts will get a penny of support from me for whatever you appear in, past present or future.
“I know that sounds massively arrogant,” DO YOU REALLY!?!? I don’t think you truly grasp the totality of arrogance and stupidity your words reveal about you.
He continues. “But it was a creative disruption….” (There’s more bullshit falling from his mouth, but skipping ahead to the punchline) “…Sean Connery personified that character in a way that will never go away, so I thought, ‘What do I do to it?’”
The only thing you could think of was to kill him…?
Fuck off Daniel Craig. Go home and keep telling yourself you did the right thing. I’m sure Rian will agree with you.
You too Barbara Broccoli. What will you do when you can’t lock the budget for your next bad decision? Or worse, you actually get a budget and it rightfully bombs at the Box Office…?
James Bond is dead.
You killed him.
Your franchise is over and we all have to live with your awful decision.
That doesn’t mean we have to pay for another one.
Smug Bastard.
