INT. WAITING ROOM- DAY
Justice and the Machine duel, moving faster than Evelyn can follow.
Gaining the advantage, Justice topples his opponent over a chair. Evelyn cringes backward as Justice reaches for her.
Travers and Clayton burst through the door, guns out, drawing a bead on Justice.
CLAYTON: Federal Officer! Don’t- !
TRAVERS: Don’t move, Mr. President.
Justice jerks Evelyn to her feet in front of him. The Officers stare, dumbstruck at the sight of her.
The Machine lunges in, separating the two and pushing Justice out of the room. Recognizing them from the clearing, the Machine pushes Evelyn in their direction.
Travers catches her.
MACHINE: Take care of her.
Before they can respond, he’s out the door after Justice. Clayton keeps his attention on the door.
TRAVERS: Madame President. My name is Special Agent Travers. Are you all right?
Remembering the name, she nods.
EVELYN: I’d really like to go home now.
Travers smiles. Gently, he passes her into Clayton’s arms.
TRAVERS: Yes ma’am. You go with Special Agent Clayton and we’ll get you home safe and sound. Clayton, please...?
CLAYTON: Yes, sir. Madame President, please come with me.
He takes her by the hand and leads her out the way they came in. Travers turns to the SOUND of fighting from the other corridor.
Jaw set in place, he goes after them.
